Right now you can back a console called the OUYE on a Chinese version of Kickstarter.
If the name seems familiar to you, the way it looks is probably even more recognizable. The console itself looks like a PlayStation 4, and its controller looks like an Xbox One’s, albeit with a few minor alterations.
According to a comment with a translation on Kotaku’s story, thecrowdfunding campaign will be launching with a goal of $15,000, with the console expected to be around $70 with one controller. The company has also allegedly spent six months working on the “unique design.”
China recently fully lifted its 15 year ban on video game consoles. In 2014, itrelaxed the ban slightly, allowing foreign companies to manufacture and distribute consoles in Shanghai’s free trade zone.
